Ideas on GSoC (was: Fwd: Google Summer of Code 2012 upcoming)

GSoC is coming. We have plenty ongoing stuff at Logging and a GSoC student might help us with reviving this project. Even when I have just plenty of time I would try to mentor, if nobody else is willing to do (Ralph?). Lets make a brainstorming(Continue reading)- Chainsaw might be separated out from log4j 1.x and be able to work with log4j2 and hey, why not even log4php or log4net? - log4j2 needs: JMX, OSGi, missing appenders (SMTP, database), receivers - we need to specify a list here Other stuff? Whats with log4cpp? Anything we can do here? I have created an issue for collecting these tasks - we need to do this to apply. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4J2-57 I used log4j 2 as it is most likely the project for which we'll get most attention.
