Misleading descriptions of MantisBT forks at github

Hi all,

maybe one of the users with appropriate access rights can change the project summary at https://github.com/mantisbt/mantisbt
At the moment it's "Official repository of Mantis Bug Tracker"
This is confusing because this gets also copied as the default summary when forking.

Most of the users forget to change the description after forking.

https://github.com/davidhicks/mantisbt
https://github.com/jreese/mantisbt
https://github.com/rombert/mantisbt
...

Also confusing "Official mirror of Mantis Bug Tracker on Github"

https://github.com/vboctor/mantisbt
https://github.com/grangeway/mantisbt
...

IMO "Mantis Bug Tracker" is enough information at this place and not misleading.

Cheers
Roland

Re: Misleading descriptions of MantisBT forks at github

Good point.  I'll update the mantisbt and my copies.  Funny that "mantisbt" will now be the one missing the "official" :)

Did everyone checkout the new logo candidates? I would like to close on this by tomorrow, since we seem very close now. http://www.mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=7994

I'll delete my 'master' branch soon because it is outdated/no longer
needed. Feel free to send me a reminder if my branch doesn't disappear
in the next few days.

Looking very good. I replied in another email to this list but forgot to
mention that we should try to get an SVG format logo as a top priority
(this way we can scale it and convert it to PNG as needed).

Also I'd like the logo separated from text on web pages so that the text
can be styled using CSS3 web fonts (making it searchable and part of the
markup that search engines see).

If all of that is possible, of course.

Re: Misleading descriptions of MantisBT forks at github

Roland, I've updated the description of the git repositories in GitHub for mantisbt/mantisbt and vboctor/mantisbt.

David,

1. Logo in Vector Format - I'll have the logo in Adobe Illustrator format as well as PNG format.
2. Separate Icon from Text - I'm not sure we will be able to get the same font via CSS.  We can split the PNG into two anytime we like (since they don't overlap anymore).  I also thought that the image alternate text is going to do the job for being searchable by the search engines.

BTW, I've updated the twitter icon (http://twitter.com/mantisbt).

Please also SVG , so we could use open source solutions like Inkscape to modify whatever we want.
At least it will show us whether Illustrator SVG export and Inkscape's PNG rendering will produce the same result.
If the Inkscape output is different (I don't expect a 100% bit identical output), but what you can see is ok, we should use this one.
