Import/Spice Decks... Exception

Whenever I go to import a Spice Deck into Electric, I get an null pointer exception after clicking the Import/Spice Decks... button. I have posted it below. I am using Electric 9.04 Binary in Windows. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Import/Spice Decks... Exception

Hello Brett,
I have never used this importing option, but did you test this in previous version(s) of Electric?

Brett

That is a bug in Electric 9.04 but it is fixed in 9.05b. If you have access to the code <at> java.net, you can download 9.05b from there

Best

Re: Import/Spice Decks... Exception

Gilda,

I am having issues with my Java web start in Windows 7 (x64) launching the application (http://java.net/projects/electric/downloads/download/electric.jnlp).

I get a box in Java Web Start that says "Unable to launch the application." Clicking details yields this:

Launch file tab:
<html><body>You are being <a href="http://java.net/downloads/electric/WebStartFiles/electricAnt.jnlp">redirected</a>.</body></html>

Exception tab:
JNLParseException[ Could not parse launch file. Error at line 0.]

On the side note, I am getting these messages in the log file after executing the binary/source 9.04 from the GNU page, if that makes a difference:
Can't find plugin class 'j3d.ui.J3DMenu' for menu option <Assumed for the 3D viewer which requires more software?>
Exception while loading plugin class 'menus.SunAsyncMenu' for menu option <You said to disregard this one>

Is there a better way to take the 9.05b code and build it (and where in the java.net electric page is this located)? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brett Sparkman

Re: Import/Spice Decks... Exception

Brett

Electric webstart script (electric.jnlp) is broken at java.net and the problem is not in Electric. It is related to recent changes at java.net.

Just download the jar files electricBinary-9.04.jar and electricSFS-9.04.jar from https://java.net/projects/electric/downloads/directory/WebStartFiles/v9.04 and run Electric manually in your computer

Sorry for the inconvenience

Gilda

Re: Import/Spice Decks... Exception

In regards to previous posts in this thread, is it possible to get the 9.05b version where the SPICE In error is fixed?

Thanks,

I am having issues with my Java web start in Windows 7 (x64) launching the application (http://java.net/projects/electric/downloads/download/electric.jnlp).

Is there a better way to take the 9.05b code and build it (and where in the java.net electric page is this located)? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Import/Spice Decks... Exception

I am sorry for being such a burden. I was able to update using subversion and build on our Linux machine.
I was  having a different issue with File->Import->Spice Decks..., but I was able to determine the problem.
There was a space in the folder name, which would throw a null pointer exception although I was able to select the folder appropriately.

I appreciate your assistance!

Thanks,
Brett

Re: Import/Spice Decks... Exception

Ayatullah,

I did try it with a few previous versions ranging from 8.10-9.04, but all failed. I assumed that the newer versions would be better due to how updates usually work. I was able to get around the issue by importing an EDIF instead of the CDL from the foundry, but that functionality would be nice in the future.

Thanks,
Brett

Hello Brett,
I have never used this importing option, but did you test this in previous version(s) of Electric?
