Server Upgrade to 8.7

Echo......

Just checking to see if anyone was still here. We upgraded from 8.5.0
to 8.7.0 server (with a required stop at 8.5.3 server for about 5
seconds, which was annoying), on Linux over the holidays. Smooth
upgrade, and no client issues so far. Haven't heard any complaints
about the 8.7 Palm conduits. The new Ajax-y web calendar is quite nice.

We did notice that the internal name for the release is a bit
interesting: the server is listed "version 8.7.0b27 (Devel)", and the
client auto-upgrade files are listed as "8.7.0 d(27) Pre-release."
Yeah.

While doing the upgrade, I noticed that MM snuck barely documented PAM
authentication support into some release somewhere, I think 8.5.2.
Anyone else using PAM authentication? Any issues you've found? We have
PAM configured to use our LDAP directory and it is working swimmingly.
We have noticed that if there is any even momentary connection loss
between the MM server and the LDAP server, the mmserver daemon needs to
be restarted for auth to work again. Fortunately not an occurrence
outside of testing.

All in all, not bad though.

Re: Server Upgrade to 8.7

I haven't looked at it yet.

Does it handle multiple servers on one machine?

Does it require an export/import of the DB?

Re: Server Upgrade to 8.7

Multiple servers on one machine, I don't know. You can probably kludge
that together. Export and import, definitely.
