no sendto menu items icon

Hi everyone,

this is my first post to the list. I like rox lightness and ease of use, I'm just facing a minor problem :
I'm simply using rox-filer with icewm (no Rox-session). I set some items in the sendto menu, but strangely they are displayed in the menu without icons while the icons are displayed when running rox-filer on an XFCE or GNOME session.
Anyone knows what I could do to get the icons with icewm ?
Thanks,
Regards,

Denis

Re: no sendto menu items icon

Try changing your GTK theme. Some GTK themes don't allow icons in menus.

Re: no sendto menu items icon

Thanks for the answer, Daniel.
there must be some other explanation since I'm using the same gtk theme on XFCE or GNOME sessions where the icons are properly displayed.

Re: no sendto menu items icon

Hmm. Perhaps your icon theme is not set properly, since you're not in an Xfce or Gnome session? Try setting it with lxappearance, or adding

gtk-icon-theme-name="GNOME"

or such to your .gtkrc-2.0.

Re: no sendto menu items icon

My icon theme is properly taken in account, since I can see the proper icons for different mimetype files in a rox-filer window.
The icons are missing only in rox menus.
But I noticed that lxappearance has no effect when I try to change the gtk or icon themes.
so maybe some running daemon is missing, that could explain the problem. But which one ?

Re: no sendto menu items icon

Finally, I found that the reason was that I was running
gnome-settings-daemon.
After removing it from the window manager autostart file, the problem was
gone.
