todo.txt in and out of Dropbox

Hello,
I'm new to all things todo.txt and command-line and .. and .. and just about everything

I'm having difficulty getting "t add ..." to work. A task list somewhere on my mac is being updated (with low
task numbers) but not my 'proper' task list which is some 180 tasks strong. I am housing my todo.txt file in
Dropbox, could this be the source of my issues? I have altered the path in the .cfg file.

I do have a workround, which is useable (thank you TextExpander) but I would like to get this working
properly.
