MD5 passwords?

Hi,

Does checkpassword work with MD5 passwords?  It's a newly installed 
system and for the first time I am using MD5 passwords so I'm not sure 
if the qmail system also uses MD5 or what.  I just installed 
checkpassword but it fails every time (trying the suggested test on 
checkpassword page)...not sure what might be wrong. Here are the 
permissions on the file:

-rwx------    1 root     nofiles     11500 Nov  5 01:50 /bin/checkpassword

Any suggestions?
