no longer in Debian repos?

One of the first things I do after installing Linux is to grab a copy of
tn5250. But when I upgraded to the latest version of Ubuntu, I didn't
see it in the repositories. I asked on the Kubuntu mailing list, and was
told that it's no longer included because it's not being maintained. I'm
assuming that refers to the Debian packaging and not tn5250 itself,
right?

Yes, that appears to refer to the Debian packaging. Carey Evans handled
that and has not been active on tn5250 for quite some years.

if you want to understand why that is, there are many good books on
the design of operating systems. please pass them along to redmond
when you're done reading them :)

For at least as long as I've had children, I'm afraid.

This is a long weekend for me; I'll see if I can check in what I have
so that people can build their own, at least. I think it's been about
as long since I used CVS.
