    the second problem sounds like you
have installed OpenSSL 0.9.7.xyz -
OpenScep requires OpenSSL 0.9.6.xyz
and hasn't been ported to OpenSSL 0.9.7.xyz
yet.

"xyz" stands for "any sub-version you feel
comfortable with".
