Re: Questions about Customer Data
my thoughts...
When I was trying to enter data using SQL queries, I had severe problem with search_id. global_cust_num does not have much affect as long as it is created unique. I mean, you can have a method to create your own global_cust_num, only condition is that it should be unique.
But as far as the search_id goes, based upon this, the customers are listed under the center when the center page is displayed. It happened in the earlier version. I have not checked that in v1.1. So, it really has some importance.

puspadhar

I do think they’re used somewhere somewhat significant, because I remember issues in the Global_cust_num field and Search_id field causing issues in the GK data migration last year when they were going through this process. Honestly, I can’t remember the details of what went wrong and how it affected things, but I do remember it had issues. I’ll see if I can ask GK if they remember how they found those fields to be used (other than just for display purposes in the case of the global customer number).

Subject: Customer Migration Questions
Hi Ryan,
We have a few simple questions about fields in the CUSTOMER table.
Are these fields used anywhere significant in Mifos
1. Version_no.
2.Global_cust_num
3.Search_id
