Was trying to open TERMINAL from the applications menu and it shows that it is trying to start in the applications bar at the bottom of the screen but the window never appears? Please help Jacob Tennant
What distro are you using? What version of (presumably) gnome-terminal are you using? Are you running desktop effects? Are there any other programs that aren't starting up? I assume you are talking about "gnome-terminal". Use Alt+F2 to bring up "Run" dialog, and run "xterm" Once xterm has opened up, try running "gnome-terminal" from xterm. Hi, Does this happen with most GTK+ appliactions, or only gnome-terminal? Problem has been fixed as I found many other problems with my installation so I did a complete re-install of Fedora10/Gnome and all is well. Thank you for the offers of help as I will look forward to it in the future if the need arises Jacob Tennant
