gnome-terminal does not recognize some urls

gnome-terminal does not recognize urls that contain a colon so only part of the link becomes a hotlink which can get a bit annoying.

Example: http://search.cpan.org/perldoc/LWP::Simple

Any thoughts? :)

I don't see any option in its preferences to set a regular expression to recognize URLs.
