One advantage of using case studies as a mode of instruction is that it allows computing students to acquire necessary competences through exposure to contexts and settings that they might not otherwise experience in educational settings. Writing case studies on usability should require the “coming together” of science, technology and social knowledge in an interdisciplinary fashion, since the field of usability is supported by a number of knowledge areas.
