no windows installer for 3.2

Hi -- your web site http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/download.html has a Windows section with a link to Octave Forge http://octave.sourceforge.net/, ie. the link in the paragraph:

**** EXCERPT ****
The Octave Forge project hosts a native Windows binary distribution of Octave built with MSVC. It should also be possible to build a comparable package with the MinGW compiler, but we need a volunteer for that job.
**** END EXCERPT ****

And then the Windows installer link on the http://octave.sourceforge.net/ page points to this link: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2888&package_id=287261 which does not exist...

How can i get a Windows installer for Octave 3.2? I do not need source nor do I wish to compile my own Octave 3.2 application.

Thanks!

The broken links are on the Octave Forge site, not the Octave site.
Please report the problem to octave-dev <at> lists.sourceforge.net.

Re: no windows installer for 3.2

Hello

I have confirmed the link has not worked.

However, this may be issue of the octave-forge web not octave itself.
Certainly relationship of octave project and octave binaries on the octave-forge project is not clear
for those who are not familiar to the octave project.

This is an issue of octave-forge project so that I transfer your post to
octave-dev <at> lists.sourceforge.net.

For further tracking of this issue, please subscribe to the octave-dev ML at

https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/octave-dev

BTW
Does anyone know the reason why the below is not accessible?
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2888&package_id=287261

Now it is accessible to the link.

Perhaps it is short time lag when Source-forge system has been switched.

Re: [OctDev] no windows installer for 3.2

Thank you very much, I was able to install and I appreciate your help. I notice that "imread" does not work, bug says missing magic.mgk, and a conversation regarding this error was posted here a month ago:

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix the "imread" problem with v3.2 at this time (can i use the image-1.0.8, with v3.2), or is downgrading to 3.0 still the best bet?

Thank you.

Re: [OctDev] no windows installer for 3.2

Hello

I have a octave 3.2.1-rc4 built myself

octave:1> cd D:\usr\Tatsu\program\Octave\test2
octave:2> A=imread('test.png');
octave:3>  imagesc(A);

I can see the same image in plot of gnuplot as in the image test.png.

I cannot handle with octave-3.2.0-binaries on source-forge so that I can only send your mail to
Benjamin Lindner.

If you want use imread now, the alternative way to use octave-3.0.5 and install image package.
Unfortunately the web sever of my homepage has been stopped since yesterday.

You cannot get pre-build image package for octave-3.0.5 mingw.

So I will send zipped file via the e-mail
