These two pages might be of interest to you then.  It doesn't look like
they are going to fit in the smaller file-systems (targeted at 16MB on
the low end for a system with just Qtopia), but the larger flash
available on the newer models might be doable size-wise.  My basic
understanding was that Qt 4 was a big push to further consolidate things
between all the different Qt variants, so it might very well be possible
in theory to swap a Qtopia App to run over X (no clue about the
difficulty in practice).
