Will (well... should) people that partecipate to the contest (i.e.
made the logos) also partecipate
to the selection process ?

In general, no - but, as Quim said, perhaps some people who participated
in the logo competition don't consider that their logos are best, and
would prefer to volunteer to judge and withdraw their entries.
