I don't use the desktop app, either.  I'll place a quick note in my 
Inbox (either PDA or paper) and process them when I have more time 
(usually at the end of the day).  

I took DA's suggestion and placed a stack of copy paper in a desk 
drawer at work.  When a new item comes along, I pull out a piece of 
paper, make a quick notation and place the paper in my physical "In" 
tray.  Right before I go home, I process the In-tray into my PDA.  
I'm excited, and a little surprised, at how good it's working.
