Horde 5.0.0beta1

The Horde Team is pleased to announce the first beta release of the Horde
Application Framework version 5.0.0.

The Horde Application Framework is a flexible, modular, general-purpose web
application framework written in PHP. It provides an extensive array of
components that are targeted at the common problems and tasks involved in
developing modern web applications. It is the basis for a large number of
production-level web applications, notably the Horde Groupware suites.
For more
information on Horde or the Horde Groupware suites, visit
http://www.horde.org.

IMPORTANT! This is a preview version that should not be used on production
systems. This version is not feature complete yet and there are likely to be
bugs. You should not use this preview version with existing production data.

We encourage widespread testing and feedback via the mailing lists or our bug
tracking system. Updated translations are very welcome, though some strings
might still change before the release candidates are prepared.

For upgrading instructions, please see
http://www.horde.org/apps/horde/docs/UPGRADING

For detailed installation and configuration instructions, please see
http://www.horde.org/apps/horde/docs/INSTALL

The major changes compared to the Horde version 5.0.0alpha1 are:
     * Further improved user interface.
     * Small improvements.

without being abel to test it myself, I think that

pear -d preferred_state=beta upgrade -a -B -c horde

could work.

Correct me if I'm wrong

I had to remove the dependencies installed from the alpha version,
then I was able to get Horde upgraded to the beta release. Working
fine now on 5.0.0beta1.

I do note that the Weather page still does the "%r" for the local

Ok, up and running now. A few comments:

1) TAll buttons should be "hot". For example, you must click the
text "Refresh" to refresh your view, the little circles won't do it.
I'd be nice if the entire rectangle were the button for all buttons.

2) You can now allow images always from a sender. I don't see a way
to undo this if you accidentally click it.

3) Using the default theme, if you have a message highlighted in the
top pane, it is really hard to make out the two icons to the left of
the From address. The highlight color is a deep green and the icons
are dark gray.

4) No kronolith yet. I hope is is coming to the beta and not left
behind like klutz.

On the plus side:

1) Nice to be able to stay in the same UI, even going to
configuration Administration mode.
2) Like the new tab layout at the top
3) Mailbox search works well
4) Overall looks really nice
