Missing MSVCR71.dl

Im trying to install Boa  0.8.1.src.win32.exe and I get an error it says this application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found.re-installing the application may fix this problem any help would be appreciated

That's generally a file supplied by Microsoft. Depending on your version
of Windows (if it's still supported) you should be able to find a
download from Microsoft Updates/help for that. Otherwise a quick google
turns up a lot of potential places to download them from. I caution you
to make sure you virus scan before putting it in to you system32 folder.

I assume you are talking about "boa-constructor-0.6.1.src.win32.exe", if 
yes, have you installed Python either 2.5 or 2.6 (32 bit!) and have you 
installed wxPython 2.8 (http://wxpython.org/download.php#stable 
according to the Python version you installed).

Instead of using .exe installer for Boa you could also use 
"boa-constructor-0.6.1.src.zip" and unzip it to a folder, then to run it 
create a shortcut to "\python26\python.exe boafolder\boa.py
