For Windows, there is the ability to install in a silent mode,
which is simply to install without a GUI or without prompting the user
for any information. Silent installs are also supported on Linux (and
other *NIX platforms) along with a console mode that will prompt the
user for information on the console.
For many users, a silent installation works fine. You are
basically just accepting the default values and letting it install.
For those on Linux who are a little pickier, the console install can
be used to ask the user just about anything, including license
agreements and the like. 0-]
