BufferingForwardingAppender

In the Java implementation of Log4j is there something similar to the
BufferingForwardingAppender?  We are trying to setup our Java projects
in a similar fashion to our .Net projects.  I have searched around and
haven't seen anything.

Method Signature Overlap between log4j-1.2 log4j-1.3

Anyone know where I can find out the commonly named method signature
differences?
