[kde-artists] Icons needed in Plasma Active

Hi Oxygen team,
I'm involved in the UI design of Plasma Active.
Currently we are using existing Oxygen icons for everything. In order to
stay consistent with the other Plasma Workspaces, we'd like to continue
doing so.
However there are several objects for which no suitable Oxygen icon exists
yet (we're especially lacking monochrome icons for elements in the bar at
the top of the screen and have some new concepts for which no icon exists
yet).
That's why I'd like to ask: Is the Oxygen team interested in contributing
to Plasma Active? Otherwise we'd have to find our own designer (who might
then produce icons not in line with the Oxygen style).
I'm hoping that at least one of you is interested in Plasma Active and
would like to help us. Other design help would be really appreciated as
well, but the icons are the most pressing issue right now.
Cheers,
Thomas Pfeiffer

I would not mind at all to do monochrome icons since I designed them to start
with but I do wonder how come your designer would not be able to assist in
oxygen for that part work with us...
I badly need more designers to help-me with all the work I have, specialy real
designers with experience and quility enough to join a style. (remember it's
only a partime hoby)

because we have user interaction designers, but not graphic designers :)

Well, thing is, we don't have a designer. We would have to look for one but
even if we find one, (s)he would probably be someone without any experience in
KDE or Oxygen. Of course that designer could work with you guys. But according
my experience with designers, not all of them are comfortable with being asked
to follow a certain style and most have their own design ideas which might be
rather incompatible with Oxygen's.
This is why I hoped you or another Oxygen team member might produce icons
because they'd be "automatically" in line with the rest of Oxygen.

If I knew a designer who might want to join you, I would gladly refer him or
her to you. Thing is, I don't know any visual designer interested in open
source work :(

Firstly - Gentleman, there is no such thing. Hired artists (and I mean real artists) do they they are told to do, after all that is the whole point of hired work force. Things only get difficult when you are seeking volunteer work.
Secondly - Nuno is overworked as is.

I might be able to land you a hand, depending on the size of workload involved.
Let me know.

Best Regards,
