Hi there, I've been using tellico for three years for my bibliography but only recently remodeled my database so it is compatible with the newer features of tellico. Now, trying to update entries from arXiv, I found that tellico always uses the *versioned* arXiv identifier. I typically prefer to use the unversioned identifier unless I want the refer specifically to a certain version. (Which practically never happens.) First thing that I would definitely view as bug: When updating from arXiv with an unversioned ID in the entry, tellico retrieves the versioned ID, finds both strings inequivalent and does nothing. in this case, tellico should definitely accept both entries as equivalent and update the entry. Beyond this I, would personally prefer it, if tellico import or update would by default insert the unversioned ID. If the user actually worries about the version in a specific case, that can always be corrected manually. What do other users think about this? Greetings, Norbert -- -- GMX startet ShortView.de.
