original win 3.5inch floppy

Dear Group,

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone out there have an
original 3.5inch Win 3.1 floppy in working condition? It should have
"Windows ver 3.1 Disk 7 of 7" written on the label. And there was too
a Disk 7 in the European distribution. I need it to complete my
collection. Will pay cash,

later,
John

Re: original win 3.5inch floppy

Hi,

I might still have a copy of it copied to a hard drive. I'm out of
town this week, but I'll check next week when I get back home. It's
fine to send me a reminder email if you don't hear from me by the end
of Monday. Although, it would be the US version, not the European
version. At this point, I'd also check torrents and such. 1.44MB is
really tiny to transfer & it doesn't have DRM, nor is it a top
priority for piracy enforcement. Though, in normal circumstances I
would not endorse piracy of a current OS. You might also want to check
eBay, especially to connect to the European market.

Re: original win 3.5inch floppy

Dear Mike,

Thanks, but someone already sent me an "image" of the disk. What
I'm looking for is a physical original to replace the one I lost,

cheers,
John

Re: original win 3.5inch floppy

Hi John,

I think I've seen old OS disk sets at Goodwill Computers and sometimes Half
Price Books. But that's in Austin, TX. I'm not sure where you live.
Although, you might have similar type stores in your neck of the woods.

Thanks,
Mike B

Re: original win 3.5inch floppy

Dear Mike,

I live in Ireland. We have junk shops here too. Unfortunately, I
don't get out much on account of my visual impairment. Anyways, I
don't want to buy a whole set of floppies when I only need one to
complete my collection. But thanks for trying,

cheers,
John
