[ROOT] Problem compiling geant3 and problem with root-config

Dear ROOTers,

I installed ROOT correctly but I have problem installing geant3. After some debugging I found that the problem is that the root-config xxx, execpt to the --arch option, in the Makefile return null.

Can it due to something wrong in my OS configuration? I have Ubuntu 10.04. What can I check?

Cheers,

Melinda

[ROOT] Re: Problem compiling geant3 and problem with root-config

Dear all,

I made some more checks and I found that

msicilia <at> mellynda:~/work/alisoft/alice/root/v5-28-00e/etc/vmc$ which root-config
/usr/bin/root-config

Is it correct? Should it be in $ROOTSYS?

Cheers,

Melinda

Hi Melinda,

Yes, it should.  Try doing:

  . ~/work/alisoft/alice/root/v5-28-00e/bin/thisroot.sh

Cheers,
Philippe.

Re: [ROOT] Re: Problem compiling geant3 and problem with root-config

Hi Philippe,

I solved! The executives have been installed in the /usr/bin. The problem was in my $PATH=$PATH:$ROOTSYS/bin. I inverted and I solved the problem.

Thanks for you help,

Melinda
