#ghc connection issue

I seem to be unable to join the ghc chatroom at irc.freenode.net
at the moment (using Opera). Is that an issue with my irc client or 
a general problem?

It's probably on your end one way or another - I just /joined fine. Are 
you having problems with other freenode chans such as #haskell?

I have joined just fine, using mibbit.com (from in Opera)

Thanks everyone. Yes, the problem seems independent of
channel, and yes, the disconnections come so quickly that
I assume the attempts aren't even recorded in the rooms.

mibbit.com 's javascript client was the third client I tried
today, and that one finally worked. Looking forward to the
log;-)

For a while some home routers/APs were a bit overzealous about trying  
to block certain kinds of evil DCC, and could do things like that.
