Syncing with iCal and Outlook

What is the best way to sync scheduler events with iCal on Mac and
Outlook on Windows?

I know there is some kind of "Office" object library available from
4D, but it's pretty old and it doesn't handle repeating events.

Does anyone out there have full scheduler syncing working with their
4D app?

Re: Syncing with iCal and Outlook

have you looked at this technote "Working with 4D and iCalendars"
(http://www.4d.com/knowledgebase?CaseID=35197
)
Frank Chang's tech note includes code to generate an iCalendar file/
stream format in 4D.
It is not complete in the sense that it does not implement all of RFC
2445, but it is a good start and you can add any missing pieces you
need.
Works beautiful with iCal and Outlook 2007. Prior versions of outlook
requires an addin (http://sourceforge.net/projects/remotecalendars/)
