compiling boost on IBM AIX: gcc or xlC?

Hi,

I am new to IBM AIX but have a project assigned to me
that requires me to compile boost on AIX 5.3. I was
wondering if I should use gcc or xlC. I prefer the
former since I am familiar with it. Does anybody has
experience and/or tips?
