Spurious conflicts with a PalmOS 4 device

(Repost of my message to "opensync-users <at> ", maybe this is more a development
topic than a user topic.)

Hi!

(Using opensync 0.22)

So far, I used multisync to create a test sync group containing palm-sync
and file-sync members to experiment with syncing my PalmOS 4.1 device.

,----[ msynctool --showgroup palm-test ]
| Groupname: palm-test
| Member 1: palm-sync
| Configuration : <config>
| <sockaddr>/dev/ttyUSB4</sockaddr>
| <username>Gunter Ohrner</username>
| <timeout>5</timeout>
| <type>0</type>
| <speed>115200</speed>
| <id>0</id>
| <codepage>cp1252</codepage>
| <popup>1</popup>
| <mismatch>1</mismatch>
| </config>
|
| Member 2: file-sync
| Configuration : <?xml version="1.0"?>
| <config>
|   <!-- directory path for file-sync -->
| <path>/home/gunter/synctest2</path>

Mh, why do these numbers denote the same point in time?

I understand that DatStarted are two different but logically equivalent was
to write the same timestamp, but DateEnd is a whole minute off as far as I
can see...

Ok, so I will open a bug, although as I wrote I encountered this in OpenSync
0.22, I'm not sure if it's present in 0.36.

So there's currently no way to sync a Palm using OpenSync 0.22, without
hacking the source, of course? I had hopen for a misconfiguration on my
side... :-(

Greetings,

  Gunter

The entry above is a so-called all day event. Sadly, there is no
recommendation for all day events in vCalendar1.0. Each PIM or
cellphone uses its own implementation. I have no idea at the moment how
we can fix this for all devices.

IIRC we introduced this workaround for Nokia and Sony Ericsson
cellphones. Nevertheless it should be removed.

Opened as ticket 705, I even only needed one reply to myself to get my
description into Trac in a readable way... ;)
