I would say 'hidden' (or expired). It is much easier to hide messages
(change their accessibility) on a news server than 'remove' them. Gmane
has a useful discussion about how it goes about expiring messages (with
expiry headers) by hiding them rather than removing them.

That message must have been obtained by your seeing the message header
and then clicking on it to display it. That message's header does not
show up in my Tbird or OE in either .general or firefox support, which
is how it was crossposted (without f/up to .general).

OE has much better ability to access a message by mid than does Tbird.
And GG's ability to access a message by mid is extremely deprecated
compared to how it was in 'the old days'. For example, I can't get that
message from GG by using the MID; however/altho' GG has it.

I'm not going to post the GG link to the message because I don't think
that the moderation should be 'defeated'. I accept the moderation as is.
Jay didn't say anything in the message to be discussed anyway.

"Exceeded the limit"? What BS is this? You get some guy in there
calling everyone names like he is the ONLY authority on the subject, and
his posts remain, but you get deleted. WTF...

Oh yes !!! There IS a limit, I forget the figure. But if you exceed the
limit you get a warning email from ChrisI to the effect that subsequent
OT posts will be canceled. What I would like to know is how many
perpetual OT'ers actually got an email warning of any sort. Can you just
imagine what would happen if expanded moderation is in effect,
whitlisting notwithstanding!? It's too much power in the hands of only
one person, IMHO of course. The 3-person moderation "team" here has been
a total flop, IMHO.
