Sometimes you need to restart the router (effectively unplug and plug 
again to the power outlet) to make a proper/robust connection.  I have a 
rather old router and it does happen to me from time to time.

Obviously, This applies when you are connecting via wireless.  Using the 
cable is not a problem.

Yes.  I had to do that after a couple of recent power failures here. 
Darn annoying.
