Re: Fw: Vista and Notes Web access - problem

I found this on IBM's site. Since both of us are on earlier releases of
Domino, maybe this will do us some good since it deals with the DHTML
editor control. The date of the post was 3/1/2007, so it's possible.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abstract
SPR# XMXL5UY2FA - This fix addresses Microsoft Internet Explorer issues
introduced by Microsoft KB912945. The html generated for the Domino
applets (view, edit, actionbar, outline, etc) and DHTML editor control
have been changed to allow for automatic activation of the controls. The
html generated for applets placed in forms with the designer "create -
java applet..." has been changed fo allow for automatic activation of the
applet. Both changes are controlled with the browser.cnf property
ActiveXActivation.

Fixed in Release 7.0.2; 6.5.6; 6.5.5 FP1; 7.0.1 FP1

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I found this, which is from 4/2/2007, and I'm thinking it's not very
encouraging. :-P
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abstract Document Connect for ASF (DC4ASF) will not work with Windows
Vista or Internet Explorer 7
Content The DHTML Editor Control used by Document Connect for ASF is no
longer supported with Microsoft Windows Vista and support may end with any
future Service Pack for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 under Windows/XP.
As a consequence the paragraph editing function of Document Connect for
ASF will not work with Windows Vista or future versions of Internet
Explorer 7.

Re: Fw: Vista and Notes Web access - problem

Yeah, I've received a single report of this from one of my more technical
users. He hadn't gotten to excited about it and I hadn't dug into it too
much yet, but it sounds like the exact same issue. Have you seen any
response on IBM's side? I'm guessing they would have to alter the mail
template to accommodate this change. Wondering if we can change the
template ourselves, but I suspect that would be a bit beyond my abilities.

else having problems on Vista with email using Domino 6.5.5?

thanks.

Re: Fw: Vista and Notes Web access - problem

Clem,

What happens if an alternative browser is used?

I am afraid (glad?) that I have no experience of Vista yet - but it's
always worth asking the 'daft' questions.
