TashCoach for GTD
Hello, I just started using TaskCoach with the GTD (Get Things Done) system, and have a suggestion or two. I'd rather field it here first for disussion before filing it in the tracker. http://taskcoach.wikispaces.com/Getting+Tings+Done+%28Alec+Clews%29 has an overview of how GTD can be used, and althrough I use it a little differently, it still requires a lot of categorization. To help with this, it would be good if categories could be assigned more easily, for instance using the keyboard. In the Task category menu, there are hotkeys at each level for the items at that level. It would be great if those hotkeys could be accessed via keyboard as well. i.e. - typing c-p-0 for category_assignment -> _p_roject -> _0_-runway - typing c-s-1 for category_assignment -> _s_tatus -> _1_-waiting C (in caps) could clear all categories for the task. ESC could abort the categorization. c-s-1 when that actegory is already assigned could toggle it to unset. I'm not fixed on the key to trigger the category editing etc. but this would save a lot of time and make the system easier to use. Thunderbird does something similar for its tagging, and I use that constantly and am quite happy with it. Please let me know what you think and if this might be possible.(Continue reading)
