Noob: Puppet refreshes the ec2 nodes code when I decide to update the ami snapshot?

Suppose that I upgraded or added a gem file to my master server, that serves with the base snapshot for replicating.

But I have 5 instances nodes of ec2 working with previous snapshots.

How does puppet handle this?
