make install bug

yate09 cvs,
./automake
./configure
make
make install

carl <at> tsp1:~/src/yate/clients$ ./yate-gtk
./yate-gtk: error while loading shared libraries: libyate.so.0.9.0: cannot open 
shared object file: No such file or directory

It is here:
/usr/local/lib/libyate.so.0.9.0

It just doesn't get added to /etc/ld.so.conf
