Ah, I should have searched the list for patches to DumpFile.pm after I concocted this one.  Well you can
certainly have all the glory :)  and consider my report another vote for integration of your patch.

You seem to have independently come up with the same patch (except for
the exact error message) as the DumpFile.pm section of my patch from
February.
