Hi group -
I'm running Kino 1.3.4 on Ubuntu 10.10 and am having trouble importing DV from my camcorder using firewire.
My Panasonic camcorder is recognized and the capture starts but then quits after a minute or two. Also, after that the camcorder is no longer recognized. Like it's forgotten. Computer needs to be rebooted and then is seen again.
I have looked around the 'Net and seen comments from uses that say to start Kino as root, and to use the pads command to start Kino, but it doesn't seem to make any difference with this issue, though that has helped the sound recording issue. It's odd that his just popped up because everything was working fine two months ago. Or so I thought.
Happy to provide added spec info if needed.
Thanks in advance.
