animation in Software Opensource

Hello all,

I've been through this display an animation made from 100% free software.
This is my first 2D animation (logical I did some other test), but for the end customer is first.

Certainly, looking more technically, some details could be improved, in fact, always have to improve every day, right?

follow the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PERGjiXCJUU

OS Ubuntu 10.04

Software:

Music:

Battery: Hydrogen GSCW using samplers that can be downloaded from the link http://www.autodafe.net/gscw-drum-kit-for-hydrogen-drum-machine.html

Instruments: I used to open the MUSE instruments and Ardour to record what I was playing. It was recorded track by track, instrument by instrument using a free kit sounds in SF2 format - soundfont (fluidR3 GM).
Finally, I recorded the two voices.

Graphics:

The sketches were done in Gimp. Then trace the scenarios in Inkscape and exported as PNG files.
The characters were fully drawn and animated in Synfig, including the effects of shadows.

Lipsync (synchronization of audio and animation):

For synchronization of speech and some moves, I used the blender, because it has a video editor which can insert markers.
For example, in 2 / 2 in Table 13 has the audio of the letter P, I created a marker with the name P and so on. After all of the audio checked, I was just using references from time to animate the character speaking or moving. Then, in video editing, the video was just added end of the animation with the audio.

Video Editing:

I used Avidemux to convert sequences of images generated by Synfig for video.
To make the final cut, combine the shots and synchronize audio, I used Kdenlive.

Sorry my English!

Hugs!

In fact you can use blender for lipsync and video editing at the same
time. Then you don't need to convert png sequence to video - blender
can work with png sequences directly.
