GTK Preferences dialog window bottom below Windows taskbar

The GTK Preferences dialog window bottom below Windows taskbar.  The upper 85% is visible and I move the window up with the mouse.  I've tried to open that dialog then move to a completely visible location then close the window and BlueFish.  I was hoping it would save the position but that did not work.

Is there an adjustment within GTK's configuration file(s) or BlueFish that would adjust its opening size and postion?

Is it too large to fit, or is just the first positioning wrong?

Bluefish does not ask for any specific location for the preferences
window, it relies on the operating system (window manager) to do this.

Indeed the window can become too small, because the preferences dialog
minimization is limited by the contents of the right box. The
preferences dialog should (probably) better be scrollable in the right
box to be able to minimize it till it fits the screen height/width.

Re: GTK Preferences dialog window bottom below Windows taskbar

Oliver,

The open/select GTK+ dialog is a bit tall but not by much on my 1600 x 900 screen.  If I move it up, it just barely fits.  5->10% shorter would be okay if its top edge displayed closer to the top the screen.

Is it practical to use percentage calculations from a query of display characteristics?  I would speculate a generic layer in B-F could query a platform specific screen-object's feature/method for the information.
