I'm wary of ever reading too much into any Press Release, but the claims of TrustBearer to be applying OpenID to a Microsoft-branded Health Records concept do seem to be worthy of mention : http://www.trustbearer.com/news/healthvault.html Nice that this example of some mainstream adoption is in a space that is (a) formally regulated, (b) high in security policies, (c) addresses highly individualistic issues involving consumer privacy expectations, (d) able to bundle openid assurances with 2-factor authentication assurances. Also, its noting that Microsoft were willing to lend their brand name to the announcement - and be publicly associated with OpenID . Knowing Microsoft, the openid auth protocol will be just one a several protocols one can use to interact (e.g. do SSO).
