[foaf-dev] Hastags for foaf agents

Hello

The social media people have begun filling in:
http://bbc-social.herokuapp.com/

But have pointed out that many more programmes have semi-official hashtags
than accounts. Eg #bbcqt is the on-screen promoted hashtag for question
time:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006t1q9

They've asked if it would be possible to associate hashtags with programmes
but I'm not sure how to publish this or what a hashtag is semantically
speaking

Is there a way to associate a foaf:Agent with a hashtag?

I'm not sure either :)

What I'd urge (for their own good!) is for progs to secure themselves
a proper account, and encourage use of that. It'll give them a
stronger mechanism for interacting with interested parties in the
future, and protection against someone else more famous coming along
and using the same thing for something else. (Or vice-versa...).

Not that I recall. Overloading foaf:interest wouldn't be so
terrible... Or using another ns, there are a few around for taggy
things.

Typo fix:

A foaf:Agent makes hashtags. Thus, foaf:made and * foaf:maker * based
relationship oriented triples should do.

A hashtag is a tag. Thus, MOAT, SCOT vocabularies enable you describe
tags using triples etc..

Indeed, I'd suggest to check MOAT / CommonTag to link tags to the Agent.

If I understood correctly, you want to say that #bbcqt means http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006t1q9
That's something you can do with those 2 vocabularies.

Alex.

Re: [foaf-dev] Hastags for foaf agents

Hello

I’ve followed your various bits of advice. Does this look reasonable?

A programme (which is an agent) which has “made” a tag:
http://bbc-social.herokuapp.com/programmes/b0071b63.rdf
http://bbc-social.herokuapp.com/programmes/b0071b63.ttl

That tag marked as made by the programme and “meaning” the programme:
http://bbc-social.herokuapp.com/tags/theapprentice.rdf
http://bbc-social.herokuapp.com/tags/theapprentice.ttl

Thanks for any help
Michael
