What is it with this deal and the BPM tag.  Pretty much everyone
considers iLog to be a rules engine, which is required if you do BPM
but you can do rules without a BPM.

I agree - just like everything that IBM does - they want customers to buy much more than the product they really need. If I want a rules engine, I am now sold a slew of BPM products for an initially lesser cost but a longer term recurring expense. I love using iLog, but its association with IBM makes me want to shy away from using it just like Rational association with BigBlue.
