To Bruce: What are your favorite programs?

A question to the man who has it all/wrote it all.
I am loving PowerPro, I abhor working without it.
This ONE utility does so many things well. It's a real masterpiece of ingenuity. Thankyou.

The Two features I love the most are:
1. The Key/Mouse dialog (Caption List contextual Keys are the BEST!)
2. The 'Open' Command List (trigger anything when certain windows pop up)

You wrote the program that I can't live without ('Directory Opus' is the Other).
What programs can't you live without (give us at least 5)?

Bless

Re: To Bruce: What are your favorite programs?

They can be command line utilities as well.

Re: To Bruce: What are your favorite programs?

I actually am not a good person to ask about favourite programs. First, I really don't do that much with the
computer beside surfing and taking doing online courses. Second, If I need to do something, I just program
it in PowerPro. So any kind of desktop utility that is not in PowerPro is not something I feel I need!

And I just use plain explorer for files.

I have a few utilities related to MP3 manipulation that I use regularly (MP3tag and foobar).

I don't use the command line at all.

Re: To Bruce: What are your favorite programs?

Ha ha! I'll answer that one. I'll try any program! I love powerpro, but I also love trying new programs.

Here's my top five (if you don't mind me adding my two cents here)

1. FreeCommander XE (the beta of FreeCommander, in development) - this is a multi-tabbed, dual-pane file browser.
2. Powerpro
3. System Explorer
4. Firefox
5. Notepad2 (so very fast, and has syntax colouring).

I would have listed KeyNote, but it's development ceased, and there is so much that could be done for it. Too
bad for that. I am sad about KeyNote. I wish I had delphi so I could pick up that project.

Re: To Bruce: What are your favorite programs?

I used to use a two-pane file manager called 2x explorer, but I found it confusing to remember which pane was
active. Maybe I'll take a look at freecommander, But I have to admit I really like explorer's win7
interface, and two panels are easy to generate with two instances and sliding to the window edges (on a
single monitor, at least).

I mostly use notepad++ now; I used to use textpad when it was still being developed back in the day and
actually bought it. I also use pspad, mostly for hex.

I use chrome -- again I used to use firefox, but I find Chrome faster and cleaner.

I use 7 zip which does fine on explorer context menu.

I use newsleecher for use net. I also use calibre for ebooks.

Re: To Bruce: What are your favorite programs?

Bruce, with FreeCommander XE, you can change the colours of the inactive and active panels to whatever you
like.

Also, I noticed something out there that would add tabs to the Windows7 explorer.

Then, there's always Q-Dir, you know.
