About Eclipse

What exactly is the problem with LS and Eclipse?

With all the discussion about why LS is lacking in popularity, I
really want to try it out again, even though it's just a work computer

If you are referring to this problem :
http://www.ls-universe.info/plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?3981
It is a minor problem linked with the xModules and may already be solved.

You can use LS at
work the way you want. When I need to simulate a "clean" desktop, I
log in as another user or use a VM.
If you are not an admin, you can use LS over explorer or make a script
to kill explorer after logon.

Re: About Eclipse

I'm not sure what problem it is. I just asked about any potential
problems using LiteStep on my setup when I started working here, and I
got the impression that Eclipse was a problem, so I haven't tried
setting up LiteStep on this machine.

Well then try it out, best way to find out. You can try using another user
account at first if you want to be safe.

That kinda thing isn't a problem, I have admin rights and all that
jazz, so I'm in complete control. It was just the Eclipse thing that
stopped me, since I pretty much need that to function.

Re: About Eclipse

BTW, if no one has anything concrete on the problem I'm going to do
what Antoine suggested and just try the next time I get some free time
on my schedule.

So it might still be a few weeks, hehe :P

Re: About Eclipse

Only problem I have had with eclipse + LS is that some LS modules
would loose their OnTop status after a while. Eclipse has always
worked like it should.

I only use Eclipse to do schoolwork, and since school is still out for
the summer I haven't tried with the new xMods. But my guess is that
Andymon has fixed the OnTop issue as well...

Re: About Eclipse

With three monitors I think I can spare enough screen estate to make
ontop not matter much. I remember multi-monitor being worked on when I
used LS fulltime 5 or something years ago, I reckon it works like a
charm now?
