Yes, but one ounce is equal to 28.35 grams and they add up.

RE: Leave No Trace

Every time I hear Leave No Trace I remember back before it became trademarked and was just considered good manners.

Re: Leave No Trace

Maybe that is why I principally agree with LNT, but, being in Europe, and Dutch to that matter, I just react strangely to people that overzealously tell me what I can do and what I can not with regarding to one subject (the outdoors) while messing up another.... NOTHING AGAINST ANYBODY here, since I don't know you....

RE: Leave No Trace

My biggest bone to pick with them came about when I offered to put the LNT logo on BGT’s main page. BGT is a pretty high traffic site. I was doing them a favor. Their reply was that I would have to pay them $150 a year (this was a while ago) to put their logo on my site. I just laughed and asked them why I would pay to give them free advertising on my site (the only ad that would ever appear there). Their reply was that it took lots of money to run an organization as big as theirs. “No, no” I said. I pointed out that BGT ran on $10 a month for web hosting and I paid that out of my pocket. We are also a fairly large organization.

But I also pointed out that my volunteers actually are.....

We agreed that their logo would never appear on BGT.

Yeah!

And, pre-Ray Jardine, when using soda bottles for water bottles was
common sense because they were cheap and light.

AMEN!!!!

I recall being a Scout in the late 70's and we ALWAYS walks the campsites at the end of the weekend and picked up everything, including others trash to be sure that we left things "better than we found them".

By that period we were no longer trenching tents or making beds of live trees but that was not really as much of a LNT thing as it was an awareness ev en then that more people were using the outdoors and there was a finite supply of resources.    And then when you add the improvements in gear there just was not a lot of reason for some of those things anymore.

But at the end of the day we used to the the right thing just cause it was the right thing to do.
