Can you trade mark a phrase which was in prior use, back to the 70s and 80s?
I would not think so. Just use it on BGT and tell the lawyers to drop
To quote Wikipedia:
"The Leave No Trace program is managed by the Leave No Trace Center for
Outdoor Ethics, formerly Leave No Trace, Inc., which is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization. The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is an
international nonprofit organization dedicated to the responsible enjoyment
and active stewardship by all people worldwide."
Wikipedia makes ZERO mention of any trademark rights to the phrase itself.
On the other hand, their logo is probably a registered trademark, but you
don't need to use that.
