Being, its just a .01 micron filter, it will help soften strong tastes, but it doesn't have a carbon filter to grab all of the tastes/odors from the water. A buddy of mine uses a tube of activated charcoal that he fashioned out of a plastic florescent bulb protector. Or you can put activated charcoal in a small mesh bag and place it in your water bottle to do the same thing.
