Post 1989 migration on the European film screen

From: "Engelen Leen" <Leen.Engelen <at> khlim.be>

I'm making a list of European films representing post-1989 migrations from
the former Eastern Bloc to Western Europe. Obvious titles include
Krzysztof Kie¶lowski's Blanc (1994), Pawe³ Pawlikowski's Last Resort
(2000), Hans-Christian Schmid's Lichter (2003), Ken Loach's It is a Free
World (2007) etc... Far from all films from Eastern Europe reach Western
European cinema's and festivals. All suggestions for less well-known (or
only locally known) films are most welcome.

dear Leen,
you might already have included Lukas Moodyssons Lilja-4-ever,
as well as the TV-series "Londoners" about Polish workers coming
to Britain.
best wishes,
Dagmar Brunow

I believe the Russian film It Does Not Hurt (2007?) deals with this issue.

Dear Leen,
here are some films that crossed my mind...

Rezervni deli (Spare parts, Kozole, Slovenia, 2003)
Code unknown (Haneke, 2000) (partly about the romanian woman coming to
Paris)
Honeymoons (Paskaljevic, 2009)
Nordrand (Albert, 1999)
Beautiful people (DIzdar, 1999)
The world is big and salvation lurks around the corner (Komandarev,
Bulgaria, 2009)

There are also few films dealing with the main characters' decisions to
leave the home country:
Tirana Year Zero (Fatmir Koci, Albania, 2001)
Occident (Mungiu, Romania, 2002)

And about coming back (for different reasons, both visiting and returning)
and looking at "the home country" with different eyes:
Sorry for Kung fu (Svilicic, Croatia, 2004)
First of all, Felicia (De Raaf & Radulescu, 2009)

Best wishes
/Sanjin

Also interesting is Michael Klier's 1989 film:

The Grass Is Greener Everywhere Else (http://www.imdb.com/year/1989/> )

Good luck,

Sorry, I missed the original query here. But it seems I may be able to
contribute some references nonetheless.

Mainly, please see the book Moving People, Moving Images: Human
Trafficking in
the Cinema of New Europe (Will Brown, Dina Iordanova, Lesgu Torchin, 2010).

Also you may want to check out the book on European Migrant Cinema, just
