Hi
Just joined.

Using iMac G4 1.25 GHz,  v. 10.3.9. 768 RAM

I have just downloaded AbiWord-2.2.9.

My question is

1) What is, & do I need the AbiWord-Devel-20050806 that I see posted on 
the site?
(I ask because it has a newer date than the original download.)

2) And if I do, will it interfere/update the original download?

Sorry if it's a stupid question; I'm a bit new to this.

2.2.9 is our latest official release of AbiWord 2.2 for general use. 
The AbiWord-Devel-* series is part of the 2.3.x series of "beta" 
releases for testing the forthcoming AbiWord 2.4.

You can download both if you want; they shouldn't interfere - although 
the Finder may not know which to use. I think 2.3.5 is more recent, 
however, and you can get that here:
