On-the-spot highlighting of misspelled words of bib files

Hi,
At times I use bib files to store database files to store
information (for example see:
http://www.tug.org/pracjourn/2008-1/calleecharan/ ) and it seems that
WinEdt does not have the "on-the-spot highlighting of misspelled words "
feature for bib files. Is it possible to instruct WinEdt to do the
highlighting of misspelled words as it does for tex files?

Thanks a lot for your suggestions
Y.Calleecharan

In WinEdt 5.5 you should change the next settings:
1. If you want to have spell checking "On" by default for BibTeX-files
(otherwise you can On/Off spelling using "Status line"):
open "Options -> Preferences" menu
choose "Defaults" tab page and select "Spell mode" in the list.
add BibTeX to "Modes filter" string ("TeX;HTML;ASCII;ANSI;EDT;INI" ->
"TeX;HTML;ASCII;ANSI;EDT;INI;BibTeX").

2. Check, that all dictionaries, that you need for BibTeX spell-checking, are
enabled for this mode.
open "Options -> Dictionary Manager..." menu
choose "Dictionaries" tab page
check, that for every Dictionary, that you need, in "Usage: submode" group
"Enabled" checkbox is "On", and mode filter line (it's on the right of the
Enabled checkbox) is empty or contains "BibTeX".

For more info about it, read "Dialogs -> Preferences -> Defaults" and "Dialogs
-> Dictionary Manager -> Dictionaries" topics in WinEdt's help.

Perhaps all you have to do is click on the Spell panel in the
status line. Thus turns spelling on and off (and the text
changes from Gray to red). OK?

Thanks for the reply. I still have a long way to go before becoming
fully conversant with WinEdt capabilities.
